Age UK Croydon is a vibrant and successful voluntary sector charity whose aim is to promote the health, wellbeing and independence of older people who live in Croydon. We provide a wide range of services, from information and advice about an extensive range of issues of importance to older people, to insurance services, volunteering opportunities, and support for those who may be housebound or isolated.
Our services are for all older people in CroydonAge UK Croydon has a dynamic staff team of sixty, over ninety volunteers and an annual turnover of approximately £1,000,000. We run services from three core sites, and additionally provide services and activities at over 35 venues throughout Croydon. We are an independent organisation, with a Board of Directors, many of whom are residents of Croydon, and include representatives of organisations working with older people. The Board of Directors oversee the management of the organisation and aims to be representative of the broad ethnic community of Croydon.
Age UK Croydon staff and Board Members play an active role on strategy and policy making bodies in Croydon, where they represent the interests of older people.
Age UK Croydon run an extensive range of activities and services to promote the health, wellbeing and independence of older people in Croydon. In all we directly run some twelve projects and we, as a whole receive approximately 15,000 enquiries from older people, their friends, relatives and/or carers every year.
Age UK Croydon works in partnership with the national Age UK charity, which campaigns vigorously at Government level on behalf of all older people
